University of Maryland currently has an opportunity for a Budget Analyst with Central Administration Support Services (CASS). The selected candidate is responsible for assisting in preparing, analyzing, and reporting statistical data for departmental budgets. This includes processing billing and accounts payable requests, entering data and journal entries into the budget reporting system, processing purchase requisitions, processing travel requests and expense reports, and processing all other financial payment requests from the departments serviced by CASS. This position also assists all of the internal groups in CASS with assigned portions of project/tasks to insure the successful completion of those projects/tasks.

Assist in the review of a variety of financial records for completeness and accuracy.
Assist with financial forecasts of departmental budgets by providing updates and records on departmental spending.
Responsible to assist in the preparation, analysis, and reporting of statistical data for departmental budgets by maintaining accurate records of departmental payment requests and purchase order requests.
Provide technical advice and assistance to departmental managers with adherence to budget and control procedures.
Serve as the Travel Administrator for the Service Center.
Process simple procurement actions, under $5,000, for the Service Center using a university procurement card.
Reallocate and reconcile procurement card purchases and statements on a monthly basis.
Process all requisitions necessary for the procurement of goods and services for departments.
Prepare and submit journal entries for departments.
Process departmental billing with Accounts Payable. Provide the data entry necessary to track these payments in monthly expense reports.
Track purchase order amounts, payments and expiration dates and notify departments of any issues.
Assist with the monthly, quarterly, and yearly budget processes.
Other related duties as assigned.
Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, economics, business administration, and/or related coursework.
Experience: Two (2) years of related experience.
Other: Except for qualifications established by law, additional related experience and formal education in which one has gained the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for full performance of the work of the job class may be substituted for the education or experience requirement on a year-for-year basis with 30 college credits being equivalent to one year of experience.
