TheUniversity of Maryland School of Dentistry (UMSOD) is seeking a Web Master tomanage its web presence and maintain a consistent presentation of the UMSODbrand. This position will maintain the School's website to ensureit is always up to date and accurate. The Web Master manages and oversees theplanning and directing of resources necessary to develop and support thestrategic initiatives of the web based systems/applications for one or morebusiness functions of the School; reviews, evaluates, and recommendsobjectives, policies, and procedures to ensure that the web basedsystems/applications provided are of high quality and that the needs of the UMSODare being serviced. Manages large/complex projects that require web basedsystems/applications, ensures adherence to budget and schedule, and overseeseffective communications between web development personnel and end users.

Managesthe support and development of Content Management Systems (CMS) and CascadingStyle Sheets (CSS) and custom system modules.
Managesthe development and execution of project work plans. Revises project plan, inconsultation with upper management, to meet changing needs and requirements andenforces coding standards.
Managesfunctional personnel in alignment with department and campus-widegoals/objectives in order to promote maximum staff member benefit andeffectiveness as well as overall functional productivity.
Maintainsfunctional efficiency and productivity by developing, implementing, andcoordinating policies and procedures.
Fostersand supports a conducive consultant/client environment, providing business unitand campus representatives with assessment, training, and advisement in webdevelopment area.
Monitors,reviews, and evaluates ongoing functional programs and controls, assessingneeds and facilitating improvements.
Performssuch administrative duties as budgetary tracking, report formulation, andquality assurance.
Education: Bachelor's degree in a relatedfield. (Master's degree and additional certification can be used to substitutefor relevant experience). Computer Science or Information Systems curriculumpreferred.
Or equivalent of nine(9) years combination of formal information systems & webeducation/training and/or web experience and with at least one (1) year ofstaff supervision as well as knowledge of at least two (2) structuredprogramming languages and relational database management systems.
Knowledgeof web best practices in school/unit/departmental field.

Strongknowledge of system/equipment capability, programming & designrestrictions, encryption, and security requirements.
Mustbe able to continuously monitor industry trends, technologies, and standardsand be able to research, recommend, and apply new technologies as they emerge.
Providementoring to those with less knowledge of web design and development.
