The middle and high school registrar participates in all administrative aspects related to program activity for students of The Preuss School. Using Aeries Student Information System, enroll new students, obtain and maintain a variety of student records such as grades, transcripts, immunization records, cumulative folders and all general student data. Provide comprehensive advise regarding policies and procedures with the ability to apply discretion and confidentiality to a wide variety of potentially sensitive cases, ensuring privacy of student records in compliance with federal and state law.
Analyzes a variety of student record factors and applies working knowledge of federal, state, University, and outside agency laws, regulations, and policies to determine student record outcomes. Accurately calculates and reports student academic and assessment data, prepare transcripts, report enrollment, programmatic and demographic changes. Query, track, and certify a variety of longitudinal student achievement data. Perform registrar core functions such as classroom and course scheduling, degree audits, transcript activities, residency, grading etc. Provides individual advising on non-routine, sensitive student record issues. Coordinates with campus departments, other UC campuses, and external agencies to implement and evaluate student-focused activities, programs, and services. Ensures the privacy of student records with respect to relevant Federal (FERPA), state and UC regulations. Creates, submits, and certifies student data collections.
Experience and thorough knowledge of policies, regulations, and practices with student records services.
Working knowledge of a Registrar's functions and objectives, their interrelationships, and their relationship to functions of other campus administrative units, including privacy rights of students and access to student information.
Thorough knowledge of particular Registrar core functions. Demonstrated ability to analyze impact of proposed curriculum and policy changes on enrollment services, summer session programs, and other registration functions.

In cases of dealing with students in crisis or with sensitive financial or family issues, able to counsel and handle difficult situations with sensitivity and responsiveness to student needs and knowing when to make appropriate referrals if needed.
Ability to apply thorough knowledge of policies to a variety of individual situations. Recommends procedures to ensure compliance in a diverse learning community. Demonstrated ability to interpret and appropriately apply regulations, policies, and procedures, and ability to adapt to changes in same.
Demonstrated excellent interpersonal skills including tact, diplomacy, and flexibility in interaction with persons from diverse units, including faculty and administration.

A background check (Livescan), and TB (Tuberculosis) screening required.
Duties will require direct contact with children (defined as individuals under the age of 18); completion of the Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act (CANRA) form is required. Occasional overtime required during peak times.
