Job Summary: Perform a variety of routine tasks and operations to prepare and process nutritional supplements, salads and other cold food items, following standard practices and procedures.Perform customer service duties on the tray line and in cafeteria.
Minimum Requirements: Previous experience on an institutional food service setting.Ability to follow instructions, and read recipes.
Skills, Talents and Abilities: Work is performed in accordance with detailed and specific instructions or procedures.Very little or no operating freedom is used. Routine analytical ability is required by the position. Position requires the ability to concentrate or pay close attention to detail between 100% of the time.Self motivated.Ability to use computers minimally for Intranet access.
Physical Requirements:Must be able to balance, bend, climb, crawl, crouch, kneel, reach, sitting, squat, stand, twist and walk 100% of the time.Must be able to hear speech, distinguish sounds and speak.Must have near vision, far vision, depth perception and be able to distinguish colors.Must be able to lift objects weighing 25 pounds.
1.Maintain established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program and safety standards.
2.Review menu and assemble food and supplies as needed for daily salad, cold foods and nutritional supplement preparation, following portion control.
3.Assist with patient tray set-up.
4.Maintain cooler and dish machine temperatures.
5.All foods prepared and equipment used are dealt with using department, hospital, and health agency quality standards;communicate with management.
6.Participate in all required department/hospital conferences.
7.Perform other duties as assigned.
Requires interaction with residents at Crawford Continuing Care Center.Serves resident meals.
