The Fellowship Coordinator is responsible for the coordination of ACGME-accredited Toxicology Fellowship and the non-accredited Ultrasound, Medical Simulation, Medical Education, Difficult Airway, Global Ultrasound, Health Policy, Research and Geriatric Fellowships. The Fellowship Coordinator coordinates the medical student rotations through Emergency Medicine Department in nine courses, schedule medical student and off-service resident rotators and schedule additional lectures and labs. Coordinates the transfer of evaluations and grades to Registrar's Office. The Fellowship Coordinator creates, organizes, and maintains appropriate personnel records system for rotators (external and UCD SOM) and fellows. The Fellowship Coordinator manages the evaluation system for fellows, medical students and rotating residents.REQUIRED--Oral and written communication skills to foster positive interpersonal relations and to aid in problem-solving.--Responsible for independent application of knowledge of standard office methods and procedures.--Knowledge of correct English spelling and grammar.--Advanced word-processing skills to quickly and accurately produce correspondence, publications, tables, statistics, reports, forms, policy & procedures, course syllabi and outlines, lecture slides, and lists.--Excellent proofreading skills for editing correspondence, publications, tables, statistics, reports, forms, policy & procedures, course syllabi and outlines, lecture slides, and lists.--Understanding and have knowledge of operational issues related to file systems; ability to understand substance of key topics within filing system; maintain file system; ability to quickly and accurately access files.--Demonstrated skills to communicate efficiently and effectively (both orally and in writing) with all levels of academic, administrative, clinical and staff personnel within the UCDHS, outside agencies and institutions. Strong editing and proofing skills.--Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with a wide variety of people using tact and diplomacy.PREFERRED--Knowledge of UCD/UCDHS Department Policies and Procedures.--Proficiency in use of MedHub, Microsoft Office Suite ' including Word, Excel and Powerpoint and Outlook, and the ability and willingness to learn new software as the need arises.--Knowledge of services provided by other departments, such as Medical Illustrations, Duplicating, Medical Records, Information Services, Office of Research, Medical Library, Patient Care Services, Dietary, Patient Assistance, Financial Services, the Medical Staff Office and others.--In-depth understanding of the functioning of an academic unit in Emergency Medicine.--Thorough working knowledge of ACGME requirements, American Board requirements, University administrative personnel policies and procedures, relevant collective bargaining agreements, affiliation agreements, affirmative action and health/safety guidelines.--Demonstrated skill and ability to operate a computer with wide variety of databases.
