Serve as Program Fiscal Coordinator and Payroll Specialist for the Office of Engagement finance team.
Provide direct support to the finance team by reconciling individual program funds to the university Banner system. Prepare transfers of revenue/expenses from program funds to departmental funds when necessary. Prepare individual program financial statements. Close indvidual program funds when financially complete. Assist in the analysis of program revenue projections.
Serve as fiscal contact for the Executive Briefing Service Center, monitoring and assisting with billings and other duties as required.
Process P-14 salary and graduate assistantships for various Office of Engagement departments. Set up new appointments, reconcile and maintain all required payroll documentation. Process departmental labor redistributions on an as needed basis.
Serve as backup for accounts receivable, budget review, purchasing, payroll and HR functions.
Work independently with faculty and other internal and external clients.
Fiscal/bookkeeping experience; knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles; strong computer skills to include working with spreadsheets and databases; experience with detailed information including data entry, with a high degree of accuracy; excellent analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills; ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent training in accounting, finance or business; experience with HokieMart and/or Banner or similar software; payroll and/or accounts payable experience; experience preparing financial statements and reports; knowledge of university/state fiscal and HR policies and procedures.
