Under the direction of the PI, the incumbent will oversee program management of the MCHTG. The role of the Maternal and Child Health Training Grant (MCHTG) manager is to lead all aspects of the MCHTG, including the development and implementation of processes to track students' interests, training and mentoring needs, active outreach and recruitment of trainees, internship placements, and tracking of professional advancement post-graduation. Mentor trainees, oversee mentoring by faculty and monitor professional development through regular contact, feedback from faculty mentors, and individual academic pathway planning. Manage evaluation activity and create a process and platform for trainee competency assessments and program alumni and community partner relationships. Plan and implement periodic conferences, symposia and professional development opportunities for current trainees and alumni. Be responsible for all written literature applicable to the Program. Assist with seminars and course development. Serve as liaison between UCLA and the Training Program, and supervise students in the Leadership Education in Neurodevelopment (LEND) training grant.
The Manager will also act as the primary liaison between UCLA and the Maternal and Child Health Bureau program office regarding program administration and reporting and the development of proposals for program continuation.
The manager will also supervise long-term public health graduate students in the Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental Disabilities (LEND) training grant ensuring they fulfill course and service requirements. Oversee the didactic portions of the LEND curriculum.

Extensive experience with training programs, fellowships in the early childhood health and development area.
Experience and knowledge of working with administrative requirements of institutions in Higher Education.
Detailed knowledge of and working relationships with public and/or private sector organizations serving children and families.
Strong verbal, written, presentation, negotiation, and interpersonal skills to build relationships across levels of multiple organizations such as universities, government agencies, private business, and healthcare and community based organizations, and to communicate with a variety of individuals such as graduate students, faculty, health care providers, collaborators, subcontractors, stakeholders, sponsors and co-workers.
Ability to set long range plans and short term goals for the projects, develop agendas and action plans and implement schedules to achieve the plans and goals
Strong meeting facilitation skills.
