The Senior Financial & Cost Analyst, acts as a Cost Engineering Lead facilitates the delivery of reporting and cost performance analysis to consumers of Information Technology Systems (ITS) products. Working with partners and ITS product providers, this individual will become the subject matter expert in recommending and helping partners select the ITS products that achieve the best operational results. Provides training and guidance on AWS offerings.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
The Senior Financial & Cost Analyst possess knowledge of financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes and is able to articulate to customers the impact of operational decisions on financial performance including trends and comparisons. He/she is a subject matter expert in cloud related resources and is well-versed in understanding the cost implications of architectural decisions and designs.
The Cost Engineering Lead will proactively engage and communicate to ITS providers and key stakeholders changes to sources of revenue/funding within established and ad hoc finance exercises. He/she will serve as a member of the HUIT oversight committee for cloud related infrastructure costs and will work with partners to help manage and optimize IT spend in the cloud.
The Cost Engineering Lead understands the service and solutions delivered through ITS products and thereby able to assist and collaborate in resolving business operation issues including billing and service changes. The Cost Engineering Lead collaborates closely with ITS teams, CTO office, and other HUIT service delivery groups through leading or contributing to projects and activities.
Establishes the Cost Engineering Service within the Cloud Program workgroup structure
Selects a robust technology to support the service offering vision
Communicates financial and budgetary impact of cloud operating activities and consumption
Possesses ability to effectively manage a project from inception to implementation
Serves as an AWS subject matter expert on product offering, cost drivers, and tradeoffs of architectural designs
Provides training and guidance on AWS offerings

Bachelor's degree required
finance & budgeting experience in an IT environment or capacity
