Salisbury University is accepting applications for the full-time, exempt position of Director of Financial Aid. This innovative and service-oriented leader will report to the Assistant Vice-President for Enrollment Management. The Director plays a key role in planning and supporting the University's enrollment goals and works collaboratively to develop financial aid strategies that support those goals.
Primary Job Duties: Manages all aspects of the University's financial aid budget, including institutional, state, federal, and SU Foundation funds applied to student accounts. Directs the financial aid staff, assigns tasks, ensures financial aid compliance, produces institutional-level reporting, and manages the University's four-year financial aid model to best apply more than $8 M in institutional aid. As a key member of the Enrollment Management Team, helps to create and manage packaging policies and forecast aid expenditures. Collaborates with campus departments and divisions to support University enrollment and retention and to ensure effective use of scholarship funds.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Business, Higher Education or a related field with 7-10 years of experience directing a financial aid office at a higher education institution.
Experience with both day-to-day management of financial aid budgets as well as strategic projection and policy implementation of financial aid. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite – particularly Excel to manage complex project, databases, and multiple accounts. Experience completing critical annual reports for financial aid compliance.
Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Knowledge of and ability to implement innovative financial aid strategies in support of student enrollment and retention; knowledge of all levels of financial services compliance and reporting; experience working with financial aid consultants to manage multi-year financial aid strategies; strong leadership, analytical, organizational, multi-tasking, oral and written communication skills with a proven commitment to customer service; demonstrated problem solving and financial management skills; excellent technical skills with the ability to be creative in the use of technology to serve students. PeopleSoft Student Administration or similar web-based software product experience is essential.
Preferred Qualifications: Master's Degree in related field.
