SAFE PLACE VICTIM ADVOCATE ADMINISTRATOR (Administrator I)

Primary Duties: Under the general direction of the Medical Director incumbent will administer and utilize the prevention education, training, and services related to sexual assault, domestic violence, dating violence, and stalking to the campus community with the goal of reducing these crimes in our campus community. The incumbent will counsel, assist, and accompany victims of sexual violence and serve as their advocate. the incumbent will also develop and provide training to students on sexual assault, domestic violence, dating violence, and stalking.
Must possess a certificate as a California Sexual Assault Counselor at the time of the offer, or are able to obtain within six (6) months from date of hire. ANDONE OF THEFOLLOWING: Qualified Psychotherapist under the California Evidence code 1010.
A Masters Degree in Counseling or Social Work.
One year of counseling experience which includes a minimum of six months rape crisis counseling.
Candidates without one year of counseling experience as noted above may be considered. In this case, candidates must have completed 40 hours of training in one of the areas below.

Sexuality (Supervised training will continue until the year of counseling as noted above is met.)
The person holding this position is considered a mandated reporter under the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act and is required to comply with the requirements set forth in CSU Executive Order 1083 as a condition of employment.
This position is a Higher Education Employer-Employee Relations Act (HEERA) designated managerial position and comes under the Management Personnel Plan (MPP) of the California State University. Individuals appointed to management positions serve at the pleasure of the President or designee. They are excluded from the collective bargaining process, are not subject to probationary service, and do not receive tenure or permanent status. This position is exempt from the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).
This position is a designated position in the California State Universitys Conflict of Interest Code. The successful candidate accepting this position is required to file Conflict of Interest forms subject to the regulations of the Fair Political Practices Commission.
A valid California Drivers License must be maintained throughout employment in this position, as well as a successful completion and continued compliance of CSU Defensive Driving Course.
A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily before any candidate can be offered a position with the CSU. Failure to satisfactorily complete the background check may affect the application status of applicants or continued employment of current CSU employees who apply for the position. This considered a sensitive position. Current CSU, Chico employees are subject to a background check (including a criminal record check) if voluntarily moving into a sensitive position, regardless of any background checks previously conducted. Incumbent is responsible for the safety and security of Level 1 data, sometimes also referred to as Level 1 protected data. This is confidential information that is in most cases protected by statutes, regulations, or other legal mandates.
Occasional late night, after hours and/or weekend work may be required.
PHYSICALREQUIREMENTS: Incumbent/applicant will need to be able to perform the essential job functions (duties) of this position with or without reasonable accommodation. This position alternates between remaining in a stationary position operating a personal computer for long periods of time and frequently moving about inside the office. Must be able to travel to other offices and buildings on and off-campus for meetings and events.
WORKENVIRONMENT: Work is performed in a typical office environment operating standard office equipment.
