The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) in the Graduate School of Engineering and Applied Sciences (GSEAS) at the Naval Postgraduate School (NPS) invites applications for the position of non-tenure track Research Associate in the fields of security and back-end programming utilizing C, C++, and OpenCL. This position will be based full-time at the Naval Postgraduate School Campus in Monterey, CA. . We are seeking candidates with core strengths in areas such as: C, C++, OpenCL, Python, network security, and system integration. Familiarity with U.S. Navy, DoD, and Intelligence Community organizations and operations is highly desired. The successful candidate is expected to assist students in performing experimentations and support research projects in Localization and Network Optimization Laboratory. Research spans basic to applied research and involves graduate students. The candidate must have a strong commitment to graduate student support and dedicate to on-time project completion.
We are seeking a colleague to join our vibrant and diverse department which has a long history of excellence in electrical engineering, sensor systems, networks, cyber systems, and intelligence integration. The ECE Department has a strong research infrastructure such as laboratory’s, access to secure computing and communications facilities and other computational resources. The ECE Department promotes interdisciplinary research and encourages research collaborations with a number of oceanographic institutions located across the country and around the world. An earned bachelor degree in computer science or electrical engineering
Proficient in C and C++; knowledge of OpenCL and Python is a plus
Proficient in message passing architecture and programming such as ZeroMQ
Experienced in system performance testing.
Must currently hold or be eligible for a TS/SCI clearance
U.S. citizenship required
