With nearly 4,000 staff and student employees, Student and Campus Life (SCL) is home to the offices of Cornell Health, Dean of Students, Campus & Community Engagement, Athletics & Physical Education, Campus Life Enterprise Services and Cornell Career Services. These departments engage students directly, and serve as campus experts on pressing student life matters such as mental health, student support and engagement, diversity and inclusion, housing, and post-graduate opportunities.
The newly created Director of Advancement for Student & Campus Life stems from the concept that life-long relationships require nurturing early and often. For SCL, those relationships begin when students and parents are making their first decisions about which college to attend and are cultivated further through intentional communications throughout the Cornell experience and continue beyond graduations into a post-Cornell life. The Director has the important role of establishing the SCL brand and working strategically and creatively to share the ways SCL positively impacts our students with the intention of building relationships that are mutually beneficial for years’ to come.

As a critical leader in the Office of the Vice President, the Director of Advancement for Student and Campus Life will be the strategic relationship manager for the division's external and internal constituents including; alumni and friends, prospective and current students and parents, the campus, the media, and the local, national, and global community. This position has an opportunity to set a new direction that reflects the Vice President's philosophy and approach to engagement, communication and relationship building. In support of the objectives, the Director will oversee the functions of development, communications, marketing, web management, alumni relations and parent/student relations within the division of SCL (approximately 3 FTE).
