Neighborhood Administrative Specialist
The George Mason University Office of Housing and Residence Life (OHRL) invites applications for a Neighborhood Administrative Specialist position. Responsibilities fall into the categories of customer service, administrative/clerical, supervision of the front desk, responsibility for one of three functional tasks, and other duties/special projects. Responsibilities include:
Supervision of and overseeing the front reception operations and administrative/clerical support for their assigned residential area;
Serving as the first person of contact and referral agent for parents, current residents, and prospective residents at George Mason University;
Serving as administrative/clerical support for the professional staff and the neighborhood; and
Incumbent will be assigned one of the following functional responsibilities yearly:
Desk assistant, recruitment planning, and training student staff development;
Housing application waivers and exemptions; and
Deposit reconciliation and website communication accuracy (i.e., floor plans, calendar dates, and housing services procedures).
Extensive administrative support experience in a high-traffic office environment;
Excellent oral and written communication skills;
Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite, e-mail and Internet;
Excellent organizational and clerical skills;
Demonstrated ability to utilize and learn computer programs/applications;
Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and with others in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment; and
Positive team player focused on customer service.
Demonstrated work experience in a student housing facility; and
Familiarity with an access control system.
The work location for this position is in a service desk environment.
