This position provides professional leadership and administrative direction in the Livonia Outpatient Dialysis Program. The selected candidate will participate as a member of leadership teams to provide and continually improve health care services and to support the mission and goals of Michigan Dialysis Services, LLC and Michigan Medicine.
Oversees facility’s In-center and Home Therapies Program encompassing the following:
Coordinates all aspects of patient care with the appropriate staff members, from admission through discharge of the patient.
Ensures the Interdisciplinary Team provides education to the patient regarding quality measures, transplant options, modality awareness, and access care, including catheter reduction and adherence to treatment regime.
Acts as a resource for the patient to address patient concerns and questions.
Directs initiation, maintenance and communication of efficient and timely patient schedules to ensure maximization of the facility station efficiency.
Accountable for completion of the Annual Standing Order Review and ICD-9 coding.
Participates in the recruitment and interview process, and decision to hire new personnel (RN, PCTs, SW, RD, Biomed Tech). Ensures completion of orientation and training.
Provides opportunities for training to ensure clinical competence, in-service updates for policy and procedures, and counseling for all clinic staff members at regular intervals offering support and encouraging professional growth.
Creates, maintains, and communicates staff schedules according to the needs of the facility.
Responsible for overseeing performance of all clinic personnel, completing timely employee evaluations and establishes annual goals for staff. Reviews and approves facility payroll.
Provides written documentation of all disciplinary conferences in accordance with the established personnel policies and confers with HR regarding the nature of the disciplinary decisions.
Quality Assessment Performance Improvement (QAPI)
Schedules and coordinates monthly meetings with physicians and interdisciplinary team and involves staff in problem solving.
Ensures Clinical Quality policies and procedures are communicated to and implemented by the facility staff.
Develops facility specific action plans in order to achieve quality standards
Accountable for compliance with all applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations including participating in all required Network reporting and on-site state and federal surveys.
Participates in Governing Body of the clinic including participation in monthly Finance and Operations meetings and Board meetings quarterly. Communicates effectively with Area administrator and medical director.
Maintains integrity of medical records and other administrative and operational records. Complies with all data collections and auditing activities. Responsible for maintaining and updating all policy and procedure manuals.
Maintains facility environmental integrity, including safety.
Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Michigan.
Required Educational Requirements:
Applicant must meet one of the following:
* Bachelors of Science in Nursing OR
* Associates degree or diploma in Nursing and a Masters degree in Nursing
Two or more years of progressively responsible nursing experience.
One or more years in a nursing supervisor or management position.
Demonstrated ability to promote professional working relationships with outstanding communication skills and demonstrated advanced leadership skills.
Demonstrated team building, conflict resolution, decision-making and problem solving skills.

Two or more years in a nursing supervisor or management position.
Two or more years in an ambulatory care setting, including clinics, physicians' offices or similar setting.
Two or more years of chronic dialysis experience.
Experience working with a variety of roles, including advanced practice nurses, assistive personnel and specialized RN roles.
Experience in Peritoneal Dialysis and Home Hemodialysis desired.
Demonstrated leadership in professional activities.
Knowledge of and competence using electronic health records.
