The University of Pittsburgh is seeking an Administrative Assistant who will be responsible for administrative actions within the Dean's Office. Responsibilities include providing administrative assistance to the Associate Dean for Student Affairs and Certification, the Associate Dean for Diversity and Inclusion, and the Director of Administration in the execution of various tasks directly linked to administrative and academic matters under their authority.
The Administrative Assistant supports and is an important component of the cohesive team of students, faculty, and staff serving the educational and research mission of the School as well as for coordinating various educational and other activities in the School. The incumbent will supervise and direct the work of student employees in the Dean's Office and oversee the employment of student employees throughout the School.
A qualified candidate should have a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience in an academic setting. He/she should have experience using Microsoft Office, exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to write effectively. This person should also possess integrity, intelligence, a professional demeanor, and flexibility in a busy working environment.

Additional Education and/or Experience Essential to the Position
Experience working in an administrative setting. Insight and understanding of organizational operations, problem solving skills, effective interpersonal skills and technology skills. Ability to work with a wide range of faculty, staff, students, and senior administrators. Ability to write clear memos and brief documents.
