The University of Missouri Department of Intercollegiate Athletics is now accepting applications for the position of Facilities Operation Manager - Mizzou Sports Park. This position will manage the building services and maintenance operations of assigned Mizzou Sports Park facilities ensuring that the assigned facility is at optimal functionality. Additional responsibilities to include; Manage the technical operations and serve as technical liaison with clients of Mizzou Arena and Hearnes Center; assists or performs technical needs throughout Mizzou Sports Park in times of peak activity or absence to include rigging, audio visual, lighting and stage set-up. Position requires a working knowledge of large scale event production in an arena/theatre or stadium setting as well as a working knowledge in the set-up and dismantling of sporting equipment to include portable basketball goals, volleyball standards, retractable bleachers and gymnastics equipment; plans, schedules and trains part-time personnel in large scale arena rigging, as necessary. Must possess and/or obtain necessary stage rigging certifications. Provides direct and indirect supervision of full-time and part-time operations staff for events and event changeover activities; formulates event plans and drawings utilizing CAD and other types of modeling; assists with and/or prepares event and annual operating budgets; maintains inventory and assures that all equipment needed to perform functions is in good working order/meets required use certifications; performs other related duties or responsibilities as assigned.
A Bachleor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities can be acquired is necessary. Minimum of two years of related experience is necessary preferably with at least one year of supervisory experience. Must possess a valid driver's license along with/or ability to obtain other certifications to operate vehicles and machinery necessary to perform work duties. Must be willing and able to work at heights which may exceed 75 feet and possess sufficient strength and stamina to routinely lift and carry over 50 pounds. Must be able to perform physical activities such as, but not limited to, lifting, bending, standing for long periods of time, climbing and/or walking.
