TITLE OF POSITION/RANK: Biology & Health Lab Technician
DEPARTMENT/DIVISION: Ossining Extension Center/Workforce Development and Community Education
RESPONSIBILITIES: Reporting to the Director of the Ossining Extension Center, the Biology & Health Lab Technician will ensure that labs/facilities equipment are available for faculty and student use. The Biology & Health Lab Technician performs routine and preventive maintenance and repair of equipment, calling for repairs when needed and maintaining logs. S/he will maintain an inventory of supplies/equipment relating to areas of assignment, assist with ordering supplies/equipment relating to areas of assignment, maintain the cleanliness of labs, and utilize equipment such as science and health care supplies and equipment. The Biology & Health Lab Technician maintains the storage area for health care and biology materials. S/he will assist on-site administration with schedules of tutoring sessions for students in the areas of General Biology and Anatomy and Physiology. S/he will also assist on-site administration with facility-related tasks and other special duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS: The successful candidate must possess a high school or equivalency diploma and three years of experience in the area of specialty. Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word, is required. Excellent customer service and communication skills are also required. S/he must possess the ability to work effectively with others, including staff, students, and faculty.

SALARY & BENEFITS: The starting salary is $42,985 plus excellent benefits.
