This position will report into the ITG Business Intelligence, Clinical Analytics & Reporting Manager and will have a dotted line relationship to the Emergency Medicine Department Administrator. The initial focus of the work will be to convert the current Emergency Department and Transfer Center Reports from the MS Access database technology to Epic Caboodle Data Warehouse (CDW) solutions. This work will involve the analysis of existing reports and collaborating with Users and existing reporting analysts to understand the purpose, intent, criticality and complexity of each report. An understanding of MS Access may not be required but understanding Epic Clarity and CDW is essential. An understanding of clinical and billing workflows, and data is also required. As the reports are delivered this position will gradually evolve into a support and maintenance role for the new reports as well as developing reports for new requests.
The skills required for this position include multiple years working in a Business Intelligence organization developing reporting solutions, including clinical quality and performance metrics as well as provider billing in an Epic healthcare environment. An excellent understanding of Epic Clarity and the Business Objects reporting tools will be essential. This position will be expected to work directly with clinical Users in the ED and Transfer center departments so excellent communication, business analysis and requirements gathering skills are also essential.
The Systems/Application Analyst will follow the Business Intelligence Management Division (BIMD) Reporting Standard Work processes, procedures and tools.
Masters degree in computer science, a related field, or a clinical field and two years work related experience in the information technology field or a combination of clinical or operational healthcare environments; OR
Bachelors degree in computer science, a related field, or a clinical field and four years work related experience in the information technology field or a combination of clinical or operational healthcare environments; OR
Associates degree in computer science, a related field, or a clinical field and five years work related experience in the information technology field or a combination of clinical or operational healthcare environments; OR
Six years work related experience in the information technology field or a combination of clinical or operational healthcare environments; OR
Equivalent combination of education and experience where one year of experience will be substituted for an Associates degree and two years of experience will be substituted for a Bachelors degree.
Some positions may require certifications to be achieved within 6 months of hire.
Healthcare related experience in Ambulatory or Inpatient Operations preferably in an Epic system environment.
System Development methodology including Agile and proven, successful execution of at least the Requirements and Development phases.
Business Intelligence concepts and tools including Dimensional modeling, Epic Universes and Business Objects tools.
Strong analytical, business requirements gathering and documentation skills.
Strong User, business partner and technical partner collaboration skills in leading & facilitating solution design and development.
Strong project management, organization and process skills with the ability to plan work follow process and meet deadlines.
Strong Technical skills in SQL and BI report writing tools.
