This position provides transcription, coding, billing and administrative support to the department of Oral Pathology & Radiology.
Job duties include: Medical Transcription: Transcribing clinic reports, surgical reports, medical correspondence, written and voice pathology reports and other documentation from voice or written dictation. Information gathering: Requests patient medical and dental records to verify, correct or complete needed information, verifies correct terminology used or procedures described in dictated information when unclear. Record Keeping: Maintain specimen accession log, maintain Tumor registry, and maintain payroll records, responsible for posting billing received. Also, attend training seminars as needed for position requirements.
One year of experience, equivalent to a Medical Transcriptionist, which includes: using medical terminology to transcribe dictation about a full range of medical treatment and research specialties, operating automated word processing equipment, determining appropriate format for final documents, maintaining confidentiality of patient records, and actively learning and understanding constantly changing medical terminology, new diseases, treatments, drugs, and experimental procedures
Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT codes
Experience in a fast paced environment
Excellent organizational skills
Demonstrated record of exemplary customer service experience
Demonstrable record of reliable attendance, punctuality and proven successful performance at past and present employers
