Job Description- The Assistant Director provides determination of accommodations and direct support to students with disabilities and co-manages support and outreach programs such as the Bob and Charlie Poole Mentoring Program, faculty training and the ADHD support group. The Assistant Director also oversees prospective and incoming student processes, including ADOCH, the SEAS Orientation program and SPS programs. The Assistant Director services as primary liaison to campus partners offices such as Residential Life and the School of Professional studies.
Required: Masterâ™s degree in Counseling, Social Work, Special Education or similar program
Preferred: Counseling coursework
1 to 3 years experience working with students with disabilities, preferably in a college setting
Strong communication skills
Strong counseling skills
Effective problem solving and conflict resolution skills
Demonstrated experience and success working in a multicultural environment with a clear understanding of the issues of diversity in both student and workplace settings
Ability to manage multiple tasks and competing demands
Ability to work effectively as part of a team
Flexibility in terms of working in the evening and on weekends as needed
