The Independent Living Donor Advocate functions independently and is not otherwise involved in Transplant Center activities, including the potential recipient evaluation or decision to transplant the potential recipient. The Independent Living Donor Advocate's primary responsibilities are to advocate for the rights of the living donor, to represent and advise the potential donor, to protect and promote the best interests of the potential living donor, and to ensure that the donor's decision is informed and free from coercion.
The ILDA will be approved and credentialed through the Transplant Center.
The ILDA's background can include experience in the field of medicine, social work, pastoral care, psychology, nursing or other appropriate disciplines.
The ILDA will complete center-specific orientation. None
