Intermediate Systems Administrator-Windows: Under general direction this position is responsible for day-to-day system administration of Windows based servers both physical and within the virtual environment. Including but not limited to system and resource optimization, backups, system updates, operating system security and monitoring. Work with application teams to Install, test, troubleshoot, configure, and manage Windows Servers in Development, Test, Stage & Production Environments. Work with cloud technologies to help augment on-prem data center loads. Assist with capacity & performance, with providing recommendations and system configuration changes and updates. Fluency writing scripts via PowerShell to help improve operational efficiencies. Works closely with vendors and cross-functional departmental teams to provide support, fulfill new service requests and resolve incidents in a timely manner. Develops and maintains a library of standard operating procedures and system documentation. Responsible for 24/7 on-call support rotation. Provide exceptional customer service with both technical and non-technical users across all levels of organizationEssential functions:Server Administration:Install, configure, upgrade, maintain, monitor and tune performance for Windows Server operating systems, utility software and server hardware including installing patches and services. Provide support for problems escalated from the IT Services Service Desk and other groups. Apply appropriate operating system fixes and patches as necessary. Examine various server logs and determine if any corrective action is required.Implementation of new operating systems and technologies.Install, configure and maintain server firewall, rolls, services and security.Use System Center Operations Manager and Configuration Manager.Provide administration in Active Directory forests including group policy management, OU administration and maintaining user/computer account permissions and access rights.Administration of Office 365.Administer Blade Center, rack server and Direct Attached Storage environment.Plan and design technical solutions:Work with application teams and IT partners to select and size new servers including configuring processors, memory, I/O Interface Cards and direct attached storage appropriate to business requirements.Plan local and shared storage partitions for operating system, data, logs etc.Document system design and related processes.Participation in team meeting and organization projects:Participate in team, department, and IT Services meetings.Participate in on-call 24/7 support rotation for problem resolution.Prioritize projects and meet deadlines consistently.Other duties as assigned.
