Cape Cod Community College is seeking a dynamic, experienced, and engaging Director of the Cape Cod Regional STEM Network. The Director will manage all STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) programming and outreach and engage in outreach in our community to spotlight the STEM Network, including: hire and evaluate instructors and staff for outreach; convene meetings, conferences, summer camps, and other related events; lead and/or facilitate STEM grant writing efforts at the local, state and federal levels; contribute to activities that seek to increase STEM awareness, interest and student proficiencies; prepare progress reports for funders and for the Dean of Science, Technology, and Math; and advocate for and promote STEM in our communities and at the college. This is a grant-funded position for a period of 13 months. Continued funding is contingent upon available grant-funding.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:
Manage the Cape Cod Regional STEM Network and foster collaboration and creativity among the community, students, and faculty.
Implement initiatives that address the critical STEM education transition points from high school to the first year of college, first year to second year, and transfer from two-year to four-year institutions, for all STEM programs.
Develop and continue initiatives that include network-wide community building, mentoring, bridge programs, peer-to-peer learning, undergraduate research opportunities, industry internships and professional development opportunities.
Coordinate with the college's Grant Director to identify and apply for additional funding specific to faculty, teachers, and student engagement.
Coordinate with STEM faculty to develop and implement programming to meet faculty teaching and learning needs.
Support staff and faculty in recruiting students to participate in summer activities in conjunction with College office centers and campus programs.
Facilitate community-wide STEM events on campus and at partner institutions.
Develop opportunities for professional development for college faculty/staff and K-12 partners in STEM fields.
Coordinate with the Enrollment Management area as related to recruitment.
Coordinate with advisors and faculty to clearly convey STEM student opportunities.
Recruit and hire instructors and vendors for Cape Cod Regional STEM Network initiatives and STEM Starter Academy programming.
Collect and analyze data to evaluate effectiveness of STEM Starter Academy programming and Cape Cod Regional STEM Network activities and programs.
Develop and maintain promotional items, publications, social media sites and websites with engaging information about our programs to help recruit an excellent and diverse set of students.
Disseminate materials created through Network events and workshops and post regularly on the Cape Cod Regional STEM Network website.
Manage budgets, maintain financial records, provide justifications and manage expense reimbursements.
Manage annual reporting to funders, manage date of students funded, and maintain student records through College systems and databases and through coordination with Career Office and STEM Academic Advisor.
Complete all required reporting documents.
Collect and analyze quantitative and qualitative program results to inform the best practices of the Network and disseminate results.
Participate in grant meetings related to STEM Starter Academy and the National STEM Ecosystem initiative.
Travel monthly to statewide meetings and travel 2-3 times per year to attend professional meetings.
Participate in local and regional STEM organizations and committee meetings.
Assess effectiveness of STEM Network Program.
Master's degree in engineering, mathematics, natural or physical science, computer science, business or a closely related field, or a combination of a bachelor's degree and 18 graduate credits in a listed field.
At least three years of experience in grants management and reporting.
Demonstrated success in engaging diverse populations.
Ability to engage, inspire, and advocate for STEM interests.
Ability to plan, organize, and manage complex activities.
Ability to establish and maintain effective professional working relationships.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, along with a strong sense of humor.
ADDITIONAL PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
K-12 and higher education experience.
Industry experience in a STEM field.
COMPENSATION: Full-time, Non-Unit Professional Position. Annual Salary Range of $63 - $68,000, dependent upon qualifications and experience. Includes participation in a comprehensive employee benefits program.
