Norton Children’s Neonatology has been in practice for more than 18 years. The practice is currently seeking two physician candidates to join 19 neonatologists, five neonatal nurse practitioners, two pediatricians, one physician assistant and three family nurse practitioners who round on nursery patients. The practice receives referrals from throughout Kentucky and Indiana at a 101-bed Level IV neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) at Norton Children’s Hospital and a 44-bed Level III NICU at Norton Women’s & Children’s Hospital. Through various partnerships, services are also provided at several Level II NICUs throughout the region. Norton Children’s Neonatology is part of the Norton Healthcare system that includes more than 60 OB/GYN and advanced practice providers and delivers approximately 9,000 babies per year at its facilities. Norton Women’s & Children’s Hospital was recently named one of the top eight places to have a baby in the U.S. by Fit Pregnancy magazine. In addition, the Norton Children’s Hospital “Just for Kids” Transport Team provides neonatal transport services by ambulance, helicopter and airplane from hospitals throughout the region and is capable of transporting multiples.
