Summary: The Program and Policy Analyst 2 position resides within Nemours National Office of Policy and Prevention. This position is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of a diverse array of prevention and practice initiatives with a strategic and cooperative approach, while supporting the overall goals and priorities of the Office. The PPA2 will have project-level decision-making authority under general oversight of senior management, as well as receive input from and work collaboratively with Nemours staff on policy/advocacy and practice/prevention strategies. The PPA2 will also be responsible for analyzing and evaluating child health issues and assisting with the development, implementation and evaluation of Nemours practice and prevention priorities. The PPA2 will report to the Director, National Prevention and Practice.
The PPA2 will be a core member of the practice and prevention team, supporting the goals and priorities of the Office as appropriate. The position requires flexibility and ability to multi-task, think strategically and work with multiple internal and external partners to achieve a shared vision and goals for complex projects. The position will require both strategic planning and implementation skills.
Manage and Implement – Manage the day-to-day operations of a diverse array of practice and prevention initiatives with a strategic and cooperative approach. Coordinate with other staff (as needed) to ensure the tasks and resources remain in the scope of the original initiative. In addition, alert management to any issues or opportunities that could hinder or accelerate the work. Candidate may also initiate and manage contract(s) for services with targeted organizations and/or vendors. The incumbent will have project-level decision-making authority under general oversight of management with need for strong strategic thinking and action.
Researchand Analysis – In consultation with other professionals, research and analyze health promotion, disease prevention, population health and organizational capacity-building strategies of organizations throughout the country. Help develop strategic recommendations for Nemours national health promotion and prevention initiatives and for policy and strategic partnership development. Research and analysis are completed under the general oversight of management.
Evaluation – Utilize project data, evaluation and outcome results to develop strategic recommendations for improvements to health promotion and disease prevention and to provide technical assistance. Evaluation is completed under the general oversight of management.
Collaboration and Communication – Utilize strong oral and written communication skills. Engage in and provide recommendations to support development, strategic partnerships and coalition-building efforts to enhance current and future initiatives. Serve as liaison to targeted partners in order to provide leadership, counseling, facilitation and technical assistance to as appropriate. Represent Nemours at key planning forums with internal and external groups and partners. The associate may make presentations at strategic in-person or web-based forums to promote and accelerate the work. The associate will regularly attend events, activities, meetings or trainings, which may occur in the evenings and on weekends. Associate will work under the general oversight of management.
Writing – Contribute to or write reports or papers for the general public or professional publications under the direction of management. Prepare relevant materials and presentations under general supervision.

Content expertise in child health and wellness and population health-based programs, policies and practices.
Knowledge and experience with project development and management, including the ability to delegate within teams.
Ability to work independently in a matrix organization, including the ability to plan and organize with little assistance and to integrate work across the organization.
Ability to work collaboratively on teams.
Ability to communicate. Must be comfortable describing and presenting complex issues related to health to informal and formal groups. Skilled in written and oral presentation.
Must be independent and organized and be able to take ownership of processes and projects, which includes the ability to get results working through others and effectively organize resources to meet goals.
Strong ability to do analytical work and to think broadly and strategically about an issue, and yet manage details.
Education and Training:
Requires at least 3 years of job-related experience; more preferred.
