Senior Specialist, Organization Development and Change (1701997) – Florham Park, NJ
The North American Employee & Organization Development (E&OD) Center of Excellence (COE) is responsible for a broad array of human capital domains, including Employee Development, Workforce Development, Organization Development and Change, Culture and Employee Engagement, Talent Excellence and Learning Technology. This organization is instrumental to ensuring that BASF has the talent capabilities to deliver and sustain exceptional results in North America (NA) through people. This team is responsible for developing a cohesive NA capability building strategy for employees, teams and the organization, which includes defining, predicting, designing, and deploying solutions in support of the business strategy and growth agenda.
The Senior Specialist will be responsible for designing and developing the processes, frameworks, and tools to build organizational capability, change, and engagement for BASF employees in North America (NA). This role will act as a thought leader providing the philosophy, processes and solutions related to OD, culture, change, and engagement. Furthermore, it will interact with the Strategic Human Resources Business Advisors/Strategic Human Resources Manufacturing Advisors (SHRBAs/SHRMAs), the Core Talent Solutions Team (CTST), and People Consulting Team (PCT) to deploy the solutions and to gather insights on the impact and improvements needed.
As a thought leader, this individual will refine our philosophy in this space, and will be charged with bringing outside-in perspective and insights to enhance our approach. As a change agent, he/she will lead a high performing team to own and drive critical projects and initiatives to support our business in the region.
Finally, as a key influencer, this individual will create and sustain key relationships within a complex work environment, build credibility through demonstrated expertise in the areas of responsibility, and have the vision and tenacity to deliver real change.
Formula for Success: You Will...
Design and develop high-quality organizational development and change management frameworks, processes, and tools to be leveraged by the PCT, CTST, and SHRMAs/SHRBAs for assigned business units for the entire enterprise.
Establish key metrics to measure effectiveness of the solutions portfolio, initiatives, and programs while ensuring they create the desired impact.
Identify and design programs and solutions that support regional strategy and enterprise-wide objectives while collaborating with senior leaders and displaying strong business acumen. Ensure that relevant HR organizations have the ability to successfully deploy these solutions.
Define and implement tools to assess the impact of change on organizations through use of assessments of organizational culture, performance, and readiness for change.
Provide a framework and a point of view for employee engagement that drives organizational productivity.
Conceptualize and implement a framework, including processes and tools, for Workforce Development, to be leveraged by business and functions and deployed annually by the Core Talent Solutions Team (CTST).
Manage a group of solutions in the areas of culture and engagement, including employee surveys and assessments.
Analyze and interpret information from various data sources to determine value-added solutions that enhance organizational effectiveness.
Oversee a portfolio of preferred providers in the respective areas of responsibility.
Nurture a robust external network of peers, providers, and associations with proven expertise in these areas, for quick access to external benchmarking, trends, and data.
Represent BASF at seminars and various knowledge-sharing exchanges in the areas of responsibility.

Bachelor's degree required in Business or a related field; advanced degree is a plus.
A minimum of 7 years of progressive professional experience within HR, combined with 5 years of organizational development and change management.
Background as an organizational development consultant with strong analytical, consultative, and diagnostic skills; a track record of success in designing and implementing organization-wide initiatives.
Ability to lead and influence large-scale change while integrating work across multiple delivery channels and lines of business in a highly matrixed environment.
Solid written and verbal communication skills with ability to communicate actions and build relationships with all organizational levels.
Background in leading change initiatives within a complex business environment with multiple key stakeholders.
A passion for driving business results and growth through leverage of culture, change management, and organization effectiveness solutions.
Highly organized and versatile change agent that can think and act strategically and tactically to deliver results.
Strong business acumen with deep understanding of how organizations work with ability to anticipate possible impacts and ramifications of strategies and tactics.
