The Eli Broad College of Business and the College of Arts and Letters are collaborating to seek a talented individual to assist academic technology leadership in achieving strategic goals in regard to teaching, learning, and technology. The position will be responsible for implementing universal accessibility compliance (based on WCAG 2.0 AA standards), enhancing instructional design, curricular materialsin support of classroom and online strategies and learning outcomes.
The Learning Design Coordinator position works with faculty and staff in both colleges to provide comprehensive support for teaching and learning programs. The ideal candidate brings a range of professional, technical, and interpersonal skills and knowledge to the role.
Consults with faculty and graduate instructors on issues of instructional design, technologies for teaching and learning, accessibility, and assessment.
Leads workshops and seminars related to teaching and learning with technology, accessibility compliance.
Oversees student employees working on accessibility issues, online development, and content remediation.
Supports use of accessible digital media in teaching and learning, including video, audio and image production through appropriate technology, web development and coding.
Collaborates with faculty, staff, student employees, learning designers, platform providers, and colleagues on matters related to instructional design.
Masters -Instructional Design/Technology
Master’s degree in instructional design, instructional technology, or other graduate degree related to the job responsibilities.
Experience collaborating with faculty on learning design and curriculum.
Experience working with universal design and/or accessibility/disability issues, including WCAG 2.0 guidelines and policy implications, ePub3 and video.
Experience with assistive technologies (i.e., screenreaders, digital learning platforms).
Experience with current and emerging issues in teaching, learning, and assessment, experience in training or coaching, and excellent communication skills.
A minimum of two years in higher education with experience directly related to instructional and course web design, accessibility, online programming, assessment and development.
Experience in the development of learning outcomes and assessment. Experience in supervising students and project management.
