Facility Analysts are responsible for performing comprehensive research and identifying billing abnormalities, questionable billing practices, and/or irregularities. You will investigate, research, and analyze claims data, applying their knowledge of medical policy, coding and billing practices to determine details of fraudulent or abusive billing activity. Primary Responsibilities: Anticipate customer needs and proactively develop solutions to meet them Serve as a key resource on complex and/or critical issues Solve complex problems and develop innovative solutions Perform complex conceptual analyses of large data sets Provide explanations and information to others on the complex fraud, waste and abuse scenarios Excellent customer service skills
Required Qualifications: Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience 3+ years of experience in the health care industry, preferably in auditing of claims payments (large data sets)3+ years of experience performing comprehensive research and identify billing abnormalities, questionable billing practices, and/or irregularities3+ year of experience investigating, researching, and analyzing claims data applying knowledge of medical policy to determine details of fraudulent or abusive billing activityAt least an intermediate level of proficiency in performing financial analysis including statistical calculation and interpretationMust have an understanding of Facility coding and billingAt least an intermediate level of proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Access and PowerPointPreferred Qualifications: Facility Medical coding, billing or claims payment experience SAS Programming intermediate skills ICD10- experience Experience Medical Payment Methodology Excellent written and verbal communication skillsPossess excellent time management and prioritization skills in order to meet multiple deadlinesCareers with Optum.
