About This Role:
The Pediatrics Unit Assistant acts as a liaison between the patient and/or family and MSKCC staff to ensure timely and efficient provision of services during the patient’s stay. The Unit Assistant also ensures the accurate and timely implementation of orders, the coordination of services and responds to patient and family inquires in a professional manner. Impeccable professionalism, proven ability multitasking, immaculate communication skills and great customer service skills are all essential in this important role. The ideal candidate group includes Medical Assistants working in a professional, fast-paced environment with multiple responsibilities and graduates with an Associate's Degree or minimum of two years of college with Healthcare experience. Successful applicants have experience working with diverse teams, possess strong critical thinking skills, take an analytical approach to problem solving and proven ability to exhibit initiative. Computer skills are also required as is the ability to handle stressful situations and think on your feet.
This is a full-time position - 12 hour Shift from 7:00am - 7:30pm, Monday - Friday with weekend rotation.
What You Need:
Required: A High School Diploma or GED is required
Preferred: Associate's or Bachelor’s degree
A minimum of 2 years of related experience with proven experience in customer service and with multitasking. Strong communication skills, organizational, prioritization, and computer skills
