The Neuro-Oncology Research Translation in Humans Program (NORTH) one of MSK’s Collaborative Research Centers (CRC) is seeking a Program Assistant to join their team. NORTH aims to speed the application of molecular discoveries in Brain Cancer Research to the clinic.
As the Program Assistant, you will:
Provide administrative and operational support to NORTH Director and his laboratory
Serve as a liaison between Center members and Director; respond to their inquiries/requests as appropriate.
Coordinate recruitment and appointment of new staff, trainees and faculty for Center.
Manage schedules for Center Director; organize seminar series, special events, advisory board meetings, etc.
Assist with the initiation, planning and development of project methodologies to facilitate center initiatives
Assist in acquisition and controls distribution of research/office supplies and equipment for the Center and laboratory and contacting vendors for equipment malfunctions.
Provide training and serves as a mentor to less experienced Administrative Assistants and Research Secretaries.
An excellent communicator who is able to review, produce, edit materials for Directors, and interact with all levels of individuals from within and outside of the institution.
Flexible, detail oriented and able to work well under pressure in order to maximize efficient use of time.
Proactive in managing, tracking and following-up on numerous projects and activities that need the attention.
Able to use discretion and judgment with scheduling appointments and triaging phone calls and mail.
A High School Diploma or GED; Bachelors degree preferred.
A minimum of 4 years of Financial or healthcare experience preferred.
The ability to work on multiple assignments simultaneously.
