About Banking EME: Barclays' Banking division provides comprehensive financial advisory, capital raising, financing and risk management services to corporations, governments and financial institutions in EMEAPAC and the US. Investment bankers partner with product specialists in mergers and acquisitions (M&A) and capital markets to help clients achieve strategic and financial objectives About Banking Risk and Controls: The Banking Risk and Controls team ensure effective management of BAU Risk and Control activities for banking globally. Working closely with Business Heads and their teams, as well as our Infrastructure partners, the team ensure that an effective system of Internal controls are implemented and operating effectively across the business
Overall purpose of role:
In this dynamic and challenging role the candidate will provide support to the Banking EME Risk and Controls team and sometimes wider global team. The BA will work closely with senior team members to deliver accurate analysis, reporting and presentations for a range of business stakeholders. The role represents an opportunity to develop valuable project management skills, own and drive initiatives forward and gain exposure to all levels of Banking and Infrastructure management
Key specific accountabilities:
Directly support the Risk and Controls team by developing presentations and reports for Senior Banking leadership
Ensure mandatory training programs has 100% compliance
Continuous development of process improvement for Banking i.e. best practices
Responding to all mailbox queries and providing guidance to / re-directing Banking employees as appropriate
Ad hoc projects as it pertains to risk initiatives and procedures
Stakeholder management and leadership:
Role requires strong interpersonal skills, and to foster good relationships with Bankers - in addition to peers across Global Business Management teams. Confidence in presenting and sharing new ideas will be an asset, and similarly to provide a 'check-and challenge' mentality throughout the day to day execution of tasks. To be a trusted and dependable team-member who can be relied upon for a variety of tasks.
Liaising with support functions such as Compliance, Legal, Finance, Technology
Decision making and problem solving:
Strong attention to detail. Role will also require excellent interpersonal and communication skills and good time management skills to effectively balance conflicting priorities from a range of stakeholders
Risk and Control: All Barclay's colleagues have to ensure that all activities and duties are carried out in full compliance with regulatory requirements, Enterprise Wide Risk Management Framework and internal Barclays Policies and Policy Standards
Your Skills and Qualifications will include:
Extensive use of MS Excel and PowerPoint
Practical experience in financial services is desirable
