Hours: Monday through Friday. 8:30 am - 4:30 pm (37.5 hours/week)
Provide administrative and secretarial support to the Office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs. Act as a component liaison, working collaboratively with personnel from other offices within the College. This position requires a demonstrated ability to understand contractual procedures pertaining to collective bargaining agreements. Successful candidates must maintain a high level of confidentiality, be detail oriented, have a high level of productivity, and possess strong interpersonal skills.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Handle all aspects of hiring adjunct faculty - send out availability forms, prepare letters of agreement and contracts, update employment cards.
Maintain payroll system for adjunct faculty - includes calculating salary level based on seniority and course enrollment; input and verify payment information in Banner, submit payroll figures to Human Resources/Payroll and Fiscal department.
Collect and report attendance on a weekly basis for all full-time faculty and adjuncts and submit to Human Resources/Payroll department.
Answer telephone calls, greet visitors, and provide information and/or refer inquiries to the appropriate person/office.
Prepare Union List each semester and submit to Human Resources and MCCC.
Prepare calendars each semester.
Prepare and maintain mailbox list, phone extensions and office lists for faculty members.
Handle the full-time faculty and adjunct evaluation process - preparing packets, proctoring coverage, scanning and tabulating to send out to the appropriate departments.
Update addresses in Banner; data entry of early and mid-term alerts; assist will collecting grades.
Assist with scheduling suspension hearings, preparing documentation for hearings, run transcripts in Evisions and removing suspensions in Banner.
Scan documents and index documents electronically in Web Extender.
Order supplies for office.
Perform other related duties consistent with full position description.

SALARY: $804.43 per week ($41,830.36 per year) with fringe benefits. An appointment made from outside the bargaining unit (AFSCME) must start at Step #1 of the range.

Associate's Degree in a related filed, 2 years related work experience or and equivalent combination of education and experience.
Demonstrated strong keyboarding, word processing and database skills with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Access and Excel required.
Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills and ability to effectively interact with faculty, staff, students, and the public.
Ability to prioritize multiple projects and work independently with minimal supervision in a multi-task environment.
Excellent proofreading , editing, and spelling, grammar, word meaning and usage skills.
Successful experience interacting with culturally divers populations.
Experience in time and attendance reporting preferred.
Prior administrative experience in a higher education preferred.
Knowledge and experience with Banner system preferred.
Candidates will be required to pass a CORI/SORI background check as a condition of employment.
