The Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) has overall responsibility for Wrangell Medical Center's 8-bed Critical Access Hospital (CAH), and has dual responsibility for the 14-bed Long Term Care (LTC). The Chief Nursing Officer administers, directs, and supervises the Nursing Department to provide quality nursing care to patients/residents in accordance with Mission, Vision, and Values of Wrangell Medical Center. The CNO is a contributing member of the senior executive team and assists in the overall process of administration of LTC and CAH services, including policy definition, implementation, and endorsement. The CNO will, if needed, assume administrative responsibilities in the absence of the Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
The Chief Nursing Officer has overall responsibility for leadership delivery in the in-patient and outpatient settings and in the LTC. The CNO fosters relationships with the Medical Staff, the Board of Directors, and other members of the Facility.
The Chief Nursing Officer will, at all times, support the Mission, Vision and Values Statements of Wrangell Medical Center.
Education — Bachelor's degree in nursing from an accredited college/university, or equivalent required. Master Degree in Nursing or equivalent advanced degree strongly preferred. Must hold a valid and current State of Alaska Nursing License.
