The Research Specialist 2 will support the day-to-day operations of programmatic and research activities in the TMW lab in the role of Manager of Lab and Research Operations. This individual will provide staffing and administrative support for the operations and implementation of TMW's active studies through recruitment and oversight of student research assistants, management of IRB protocols, development and facilitation of assessment protocols and trainings, and other grant and budgeting support. Responsibilities include:STAFFING AND MANAGEMENT- Significant management of Student RAs: recruit, onboard, staff, and provide regular support for Student RAs on projects to support TMW work- Conduct new Student RA lab orientation and general trainings; coordinate project-specific trainings with project leads and other TMW staff- At the direction of senior leadership, research new assessments to be implemented in studies; learn proper assessment implementation procedure; determine necessary staffing, training, and materials for implementation; develop training materials and implementation protocols; coordinate with project leads to train field staff on proper implementation - Coordinate collaboration between team leads in building study management systems, sharing resources, and coordinating trainings, to facilitate shared learning - Centralize and maintain study training manuals, coordinating regular updates from project managers and Data Coordinator and ensuring accuracy- Manage UCTime for Student RAs- Support director in recruitment and hiring of new staff, including drafting new position appeals, coordinating with HR to facilitate job description and appeal approvals, and creating and managing positions in UCJobs- Coordinate with Special Projects Manager to onboard and off-board new and departing staff membersRESEARCH ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT- Manage timely creation, processing, and execution of grants, contracts, and data sharing agreements, coordinating work with University Research Administration, Surgery Grants and Contracts department, and external partners - Create and manage IRB protocols for all active studies, including amendments and continuing reviews, and manage communication with IRB administrators- Manage study registry and renewals on ClinicalTrials.gov- Manage lab personnel access to servers, email accounts, web platforms- Manage issuance and maintenance of laptops and devices, in coordination with department ITBUDGETING AND RESOURCES- Support Directors in grant and development reporting: compile relevant and needed information in timely manner for grant reports, and, as directed, track timelines for grant reports and submissions - Process and track invoices and bills for timely payment Place orders for project/study supplies according to need and project timeline, through University BuySite system
