ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Circulation Services:Develops, implements, and maintains circulation desk policies and procedures, and ensures outstanding level of service from all Access Services staff.Communicates and interprets circulation policies to users, and monitors effectiveness. Responds to inquiries and diplomatically resolves user concerns and questions.Collects and analyzes circulation statistics, creates reports on collection use, and develops new assessments as needed.Manages DLL Scan and Seliver and interlibrary loan services; oversees paging from other campus libraries for Law School users; and manages claims, notices, and collection of fines.Monitors Library lockers and supervises searching and carrel assignments.Monitors the Library's Integrated Library System's (Kuali OLE) access services functions, and collaborates with Library staff on testing, evaluation, and implementation.Stacks Maintenance:Manages all DLL stacks locations, and develops/implements policies and procedures to ensure accurate shelving, shelf-reading, shifting, and organizing collections as needed; also creates accurate stacks signage.Oversees accurate filing and updating of loose-leaf materials.Oversees collection measurement, collects statistics on collection growth and shelf occupancy, analyzes data, and makes recommendations on space planning.Reserves Processing:Supervises processing and procedures for reserve collections, including accurate representation of those collections to users.Works with Law School Registrar to obtain accurate course reserve information.Communicates and collaborates with University Library Access Services staff on Ares and Canvas systems.Manages Past Exams webpage and archiving of Law School course evaluations.Access Policies, Facilities, and Equipment:With the Assoc. Law Librarian for User Services, develops, implements, and communicates policies for dept. that promote Library's mission and offer exceptional service to users.Communicates DLL access policies to other Library Access Services depts., Law School facilities manager, visitor control attendants, and University Library.Coordinates and communicates as necessary with Law School staff to ensure that dept. services are synchronized with related Law School functions and meet the needs of users. Coordinates maintenance of public access workstations and printers, microform equipment, and departmental equipment, and orders/distributes Law School student supplies.Monitors use of physical library spaces and reports problems promptly.Coordinates scheduling of conference room spaces, assignment of library carrels, and schedules daily building use head counts.Management and Supervision:Hires, trains, supervises, schedules, and evaluates regular and student staff.Ensure proper staffing, including desk and support staff coverage, during all hours of operation.Submits an annual report.Maintains, analyzes, and provides statistics for all Access Services operations; makes recommendations for staffing and service improvements.Plans for the future, working with the Assoc. Law Librarian for User Services to set goals. Establishes priorities and manages projects to achieve goals and promote efficiency.Develops, implements, and evaluates assessment programs for continuous improvement of dept. services.Enforces Library policies and exercises sound judgment in handling problems.Maintains accurate information for access services on Library web pages, including Library hours.Represents DLL on Library committees as needed.Other duties as assigned.
