Rutgers School of Public Health is seeking a Registrar Coordinator for the Registrar’s Office. Under the supervision of the Registrar, this position is responsible for data entry, integrity of data, processing of information, processing of registration, enrollment verification, transcript requests, and other forms as required.
Functions as Registrar’s designee in the absence of the Registrar.
Acts as liaison to all Campus Administrators and faculty, from all campuses of the School of Public Health.
Assists with daily administrative activities.
Establishes and maintains accurate computer records of all students; maintains course schedule each semester with details; processes registrations and changes in student’s schedules and programs.
Maintains accurate data in the Student Information System database for all registration activities, transfers, and status changes.
Prepares and processes all information needed for grades.
Provides transcripts to faculty, staff, and students, and Committee for Academic Progression; checks criteria for Honors awarded and Academic Standards.
Responds to all student records requests; determines and researches issues, keeps a detailed log, plans steps for resolution, and notifies on outcome.
Orders and maintains office supplies; reviews and sorts mail.
Provides customer service and performs other responsibilities as required by University policies and by the Rutgers Biomedical & Health Sciences Registrar, and by the Dean.
Maintains a high standard of accuracy in the records of all current students and alumni, including information in the mainframe database.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Associates' Degree plus two years of administrative/secretarial experience. Equivalent experience, education and/or training may be substituted for the education requirement.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Must have effective client service skills.
Must be able to communicate effectively.
Two years preferred, of professional experience in a business office, government agency, or university setting.
Experience with other software such as Adobe InDesign or Dreamweaver a plus.
Familiarity with student records management systems is desirable.
Must be computer literate with proficiency and working knowledge of database and reporting tools including Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint.
Appointee must be able to work at Newark location two days a week and work remotely from there.
Must travel to all School of Public Health campuses as well as be present at School of Public Health activities.
Must have a valid driver’s license for travel between university campuses.
