HARBORVIEW MEDICAL CENTER has an outstanding opportunity available for a part-time (60%) SOCIAL WORKER to work with the Harborview Center for Sexual Assault and Traumatic Stress (HCSATS). The Social Worker is based at Harborview's HCSATS and the King County Prosecutor's Office. The Social Worker collaborates with the King County MDT to provide coordinated care to victims and family members. The legal advocate-victim specialist is available to provide support and consultation for MDT members as requested.
Primary Job Responsibilities:
Provides telephone outreach and in-person outreach as appropriate to victims. This includes providing engagement, crisis intervention, legal advocacy, medical advocacy, general advocacy, information, and referral/coordination of services to victims.
Provides in-person services to sexual assault victims seen through the King County Prosecuting Attorney's Office. This includes brief psychosocial assessments, crisis intervention, brief therapy, advocacy, information and referral.
Works as a liaison between the victim and involved medical, legal and psychosocial systems to ensure victims are successfully connected to the appropriate resources and to ensure that victim interests and rights are represented.
Works closely within the King County Prosecuting Attorney's Office MDT to provide coordinated care to sexual assault victims.
Works with community systems to provide comprehensive services to victims.
Attends and actively participates in the King County Special Assault Network meetings and case staffings.

A Master of Social Work Degree from a program accredited by the Council on Social Work Education AND One year of full-time social work experience in a health care setting or equivalent. Experience can include a practicum placement as part of a social work training program and/or employment experience.
Within 90 days of hire must hold one of the following credentials issued by the state of Washington:
Agency Affiliated Counselor, or
Licensed Social Work Associate -Advanced, or
Licensed Social Work Associate - Independent Clinical, or
Licensed Advance Social Worker, or
