Responsible for the basic design, development and ongoing modification of software applications, and implementation of work products in a less complex production environment.
Design, develop and maintain software applications and provide application-specific user support. Develop application requirements based on business requirements from clients and technical requirements from IS support specialties. Implement prescribed security policies.
Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include working with clients, business analysts, and team members to understand less complex business requirements that drive the analysis and design of quality technical solutions. These solutions must be aligned with business and IT strategies and comply with the organization's architectural and security standards.
Involved in the systems life cycle and responsible for designing, coding, testing, implementing, maintaining and supporting applications software.
Design, develop and/or maintain a single less complex application or a small number of less complex programs, application functions, databases, or user / application interfaces.
Follow system life-cycle standards and IS Architectural and Security protocols.
Develop alternative solutions when necessary.
Provide application-specific user support.
Responsible for results.
Work effectively with close oversight.
Maintain contacts with client, but not directly responsible for relationships with department/group clients.

Computer system analysis, design, testing, debugging and maintenance techniques and practices. Demonstrated ability to:
Develop complex programs and detailed program specifications;
Analyze data and situations, reason logically and creatively identify problems, draw valid conclusions, and develop effective solutions.
Apply creative thinking in the design and development of methods of processing data.
Prepare and interpret structured and/or computerized diagramming techniques.

Or a combination of education, training, and experience equivalent to an Associate degree in IS/CS plus two years of experience including; developing application requirements; design, development and /or maintaining a less complex application or a small number of less complex programs, application functions, databases, or user / application interfaces; following system life-cycle standards and IS Architectural and Security protocols; providing application-specific user support; and working effectively with close oversight.
Working knowledge of:
Appropriate development language and operating system. Relational database design, remote processing and virtual systems concepts.
Programming concepts; server capabilities; basic techniques for studying business processes related to new or modified applications; principles of systems design; technical report writing; and application of algorithms, mathematical modeling and record selection.
Basic computer system analysis, design, testing, debugging and maintenance techniques and practices. Demonstrated ability to:
