Description Works closely with and provides support to the Assistant Vice Chancellor (AVC) for Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) in the planning, development, and execution of initiatives, especially educational programs, to enhance the mission of the institution to foster increased equity, diversity, and inclusion. Collaborates with the AVC for EDI to develop project plans, goals, objective, and related material (i.e., content, milestones, timelines, presentation slides, resource planning, implementation, and assessments). Key Functions and Expected Performance Workshop Facilitation Background and Skills Possesses the education and experience in an EDI-related discipline or area necessary to help develop, co-facilitate, schedule, and provide overall support to diversity-related educational workshops Strong speaking and facilitator skills Willingness to acquire additional skills and training as needed Administrative Skills Provide administrative support to the AVC for EDI such as calendar scheduling, making travel arrangements, and document preparation Maintaining and coordinating confidential material Writing, editing, and proofreading documents with varying degrees of complexity Excellent communication skills Strong computer software skills (such as Microsoft Office, Outlook, Calendar, Excel, and Power Point) Attention to detail Excellent organizational skills Ability to successfully manage multiple projects Ability to collaborate with other EDI team members and campus partners as needed Project Management Implementing plans to achieve defined goals and objectives Completing desired outcomes of workshop-related scheduling and database queries, procedures, etc., according to general instructions Analyzing and compiling data, conducting research assignments as well as summarizing and reporting findings according to general instructions Reviewing and completing work of varying degrees of complexity and exercising independent judgment Webpage Design and Related Media Competency Ability to collaborate with EDI communications coordinator to market educational workshops Ability to collaborate with EDI to maintain and update diversity-related marketing information on the EDI website and social media Other related duties as assigned. Preferred Skills and Experiences One year working the area of multicultural affairs, diversity, or social justice area. 2-3 years' experience in higher education in the area of multicultural affairs, diversity, social justice or related area.
