The Principal Gifts Donor Relations Associate will report directly to the Principal Gifts Donor Relations Manager. His/her primary focus will be to manage a variety of organizational processes to ensure the strategic use of the President and the Vice President for Advancement in the cultivation, solicitation, stewardship, and engagement of our alumni and donors through meetings and events. The Principal Gifts Donor Relations Associate will serve as the central point of contact for all Advancement-related scheduling requests involving the President and the Vice President for Advancement, including, but not limited to: individual donor/prospect meetings; development cultivation dinners; alumni relations events; and donor/prospect engagement at athletic events such as home football games.
Demonstrated experience providing executive-level administrative support in a professional manner.
Demonstrated experience utilizing computer software such as Microsoft Office Suite and Outlook calendaring.
Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills, in addition to the ability to deal effectively with a broad spectrum of professionals and build relationships with key stakeholders.
Candidate must demonstrate excellent organizational skills that reflect ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks seamlessly with superior attention to detail.
The candidate needs to be a forward-looking thinker who proactively seeks opportunities and proposes solutions, while possessing good judgment and decision-making capabilities.
Demonstrated experience working independently on projects, from conception to completion and must be able to work under pressure at times to handle a wide variety of activities and confidential matters with discretion.
Demonstrated proficient computer skills, including experience working within a database as well as experience managing executive calendars.
Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
Demonstrated experience working with large database, i.e. Banner, Blackbaud CRM, etc.
Demonstrated knowledge of project management.
Working knowledge of Virginia Tech's organizational structure; experience with university, Virginia Tech Foundation, and Commonwealth of Virginia policies and procedures.
