Challenge yourself, your peers and our industry by shaping what health care looks like and doing your life's best work.(sm) Position SummaryWe are seeking a Senior IT Database Analyst for our Schaumburg, IL location to leverage expertise of current data environments and structures and provide guidance on data gaps that need to be addressed in future corporate IT releases. Leverages technical skills as well as knowledge of business rules, operations, and practices. Acts as the bridge between corporate IT and the business segments. Works with data architects to understand the technical details of granular data feeds provided by IT and implements appropriate query logic across the business to ensure accurate and transparent reporting. Will also communicate with corporate IT on data feed flaws and gaps that must be addressed to influence smooth business operations and informed business decisions. Leverages deep technical skills to efficiently communicate with the data architects. Informs architects on what tools businesses are using to access data, and consults with corporate IT on appropriate data formats to facilitate data consumption. Actively works on data structures to run queries, build out tables, enrich and slice data, and create data workflows to provide key business leaders with the information they need to take action and drive profitable decision making. Serves as a source of vital knowledge across the business. Communicates data results and standardizes reporting processes so that Finance, Operations, Sales, Accounting, and IT departments are aligned on what, why, and how data is being pulled and what the data represents. The expected growth path of this position involves managing a team of up to three (3) IT Database Analysts. Will provide instructions and training on the database structure and business needs to ensure that reporting requirements are met and that accurate information is disseminated throughout the company. Will research new technical tools and developments to stay abreast of cutting edge best practices and provide a voice when outdated technical or business-technical processes can be made more efficient, automated, or IT infrastructure upgrades are required to keep in line with evolving business needs. Applies knowledge and experience with: Alteryx, SAS, and other data blending tools; Tableau desktop and server; Oracle / Toad, Netezza / Aginity, and SQL scripting; Business Objects, Crystal Reports, Universe Designer; and Microsoft SQL server administration and application development via Visual Basic and .NET.
QualificationsBachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering or related field. 5 years related, progressive, post-baccalaureate experience. Will accept experience gained concurrently. Must have demonstrated ability with each of the following: 1) Alteryx, SAS, and other data blending tools; 2) Tableau desktop and server; 3) Oracle / Toad, Netezza / Aginity, and SQL scripting; 4) Business Objects, Crystal Reports, Universe Designer; and 5) Microsoft SQL server administration and application development via Visual Basic, and .NET.
