Mount Nittany Health (MNH) is a $500M Health System, including a hospital, medical group, charitable foundation, and children's advocacy center. With a focus on high-quality patient care, and a strong financial position, MNH is the market leader for a six-county region in Central Pennsylvania and based in State College, PA; home of Penn State University.
Expansion of the System and a desire for additional integration has led to the creation of a new role, System Chief Medical Officer (SCMO). Reporting to this role will be leadership of the employed Medical Group, Medical Staff Affairs, Quality and Safety (in collaboration with the CNO) and Medical Directors throughout the System.
The President/CEO has been with the organization since January 2017 and is focused on creating a structure and environment that continues the record-breaking performance of the System, while preparing it to respond to the changing healthcare environment. This structure will result in a leadership team that manages the continuum of services provided, and aligns inpatient and outpatient operations to maximize performance under value-based reimbursement.
The new executive will join a collaborative leadership team, focused on maintaining operational excellence, and breaking down silos to promote “enterprise” thinking, while also identifying innovations and initiatives that position MNH to be successful in the increasing challenges of healthcare regulations and finances. This is an exciting opportunity to join an organization that truly lives its mission, and is committed to an open and highly collaborative working environment.
The healthcare executive who is selected as the next System Chief Medical Officer of Mount Nittany Health has the potential to achieve the following professional and personal goals:

•Serve as a representative of the clinical mission within senior leadership, and in forums where strategic and business development initiatives are decided.
