Join us and start doing your life's best work.(sm) Research Analysts in OptumInsight, Health Economics and Outcomes Research (HEOR), provide analytic support for the research staff within HEOR. RAs will be involved in all aspects of research activities contracted by HEOR. They will assist in the creation of analytic datasets for both administrative claims based studies and prospective survey research studies. Research Analysts will be expected to write their own analytic programs (in SAS, Stata, etc.) to carry out data verification. Research Analysts will also have the opportunity to conduct descriptive and multivariate statistic analyses, as well as learn advanced statistical methodologies from senior staff members. Primary Responsibilities:Assist with the implementation of studies under the direction of senior staff Conduct descriptive and multivariate statistical analysis Maintaining project documentation and files Review, track, and manage study documents for completeness and accuracy Assist with data management and analysis activities for survey research projects Participate in analytic data set creation for administrative claims data base studies Write analytic programs to verify the creation of analytic data sets Interpret analytic results and provide analytic input for final reports, manuscripts, posters and presentations Learn new statistical and/or programming software and techniques Develop skills geared toward advancing to more senior roles within the group
Required Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Biostatistics, Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Theoretical Physics, Quantitative Social Sciences, Statistics, Information Systems, technical certification in programming, data processing, or relevant experience 1+ years of SAS, Stata, LIMDEP, or other similar programming experience 1+ years working with primary or secondary data Established ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing with technical and non-technical co-workers Established ability to self-teach programming languages and applications Preferred Qualifications:Master's degree Experience with Microsoft Access and Visual Basic for Applications Established ability to work independently and as part of a team Established ability to work on multiple tasksCareers with Optum.
