The Precollege Coordinator will plan and supervise various precollege initiatives that serve multicultural and disadvantage (M/D) youth, 1st-12th school-aged students, recruit precollege students, university students, staff, and volunteers. This position also involves collaborating with local school districts to plan and implement site-based programming. In addition, the Precollege Coordinator will assist the Office of Multicultural Student Services (OMSS) & UWL’s Admissions office with high school visit days. As a part of the OMSS staff, team participation in retention and advocacy on behalf of multicultural university students is required. This individual reports to the Outreach Program Manager and is a 100% twelve-month position.

This is a full-time, annual (12 month) position that includes a State of Wisconsin benefits package.
Bachelor's degree required in education, counseling, social work, or related field.
Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain UWL driver authorization upon hire.
Demonstrated ability to work with low-income, first-generation, multicultural, and/or diverse 1st-12th grade students in an educational setting.
Demonstrated record of conducting assessment, and/or evaluations of programs, students and staff.
Excellent written and oral communication skills; Excellent Interpersonal skills.
Strong computer skills, including proficiency w/ MS Office applications.
Requires evening and week-end work with occasional overnight travel.
Ability to work cooperatively/effectively to develop key partnerships with various faculty, staff, and students throughout the campus community, and with parents, families, school administrators or other community partners.
Master’s degree education, counseling, social work, or related field.
Knowledge of multicultural communities and values
Experience training and supervising tutors and coordinating advising, tutoring, and small group discussions.
Previous Precollege experience.
Ability to speak and write Spanish and/or Hmong fluently.
