Under the general supervision of the Data Operations Manager, the Events Data Operations Specialist supports the maintenance and use of the ADFS Events module and data, the related event databases and applications; other small databases and similar types of files that are regularly shared among UR staff for managing and reporting on ADFS constituent record data. In consultation with event managers, this position also develops and produces mailing lists and event related data reports, especially University Relations event mailing and invitee lists, and also tests and writes functional specifications for event related reports and related database modifications and upgrades. This position develops and provides training manuals, event creation templates, and training to coordinators regarding how to manage event registration in ADFS, run and utilize self-service event reporting, and in requesting mailing lists and event related data reports.
Applies business process and analysis concepts and department / unit and location policies and procedures to resolve a variety of business process problems. Works on business process issues of limited to moderate scope where evaluation of processes, procedures and data requires analysis using a variety of factors.
Work-site location is the UC Santa Cruz Scotts Valley Center (100 Enterprise Way, Scotts Valley, CA).
Excellent self-management skills with ability to work independently and follow through on assignments with little direction using sound judgment and with frequent
Demonstrated experience working with customers to identify needs and support a strong customer service philosophy.
Ability to solve data collection and reporting needs with innovative software application and database solutions.
Experience with, or ability to learn Systems Application Product (SAP) Business Objects InfoView or experience with similar reporting tools.
Excellent communication skills sufficient to train others in the use of software applications and explain complex technical procedures and database parameters to those unfamiliar with the related system(s).
