Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Secretary I for the Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey. The Secretary I will perform as the executive or senior level secretary; among the key duties of this position are the following:
Provides high-level confidential, secretarial services and will assist with the administrative activities within the Division of Surgical Oncology.
Assists with preparation of grant applications, including budget preparation and justification.
Responsible for organizing and coordinating the Breast Surgery Fellowship Program which entails organizing and coordinating interview schedules, preparing and organizing all required paperwork, reserving rooms and arranging for catering, assisting applicants with travel and acting as Liaison between GME office and new fellow.
Coordinates the activities for assigned projects and programs.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Graduation from an accredited program in secretarial studies, plus four (4) years of full-time secretarial experience required.
An additional year of experience is required in lieu of the secretarial program.
College credits may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for secretarial experience.
Up to sixty (60) credits may be substituted for two (2) years of secretarial experience.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Effective oral and written communication skills required.
Must be computer literate with proficiency and working knowledge of database and reporting tools such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
Demonstrated proficiency in GE IDX, GE EMR, Sunrise Clinical Manager (SCM), TDS, and Sunrise Disease Manager (SDM), and Electronic grant submission experience preferred.

Physical Demands: Standing, sitting, walking, talking and hearing. No special vision requirements. Lifting up to 25lbs.
Work Environment: Office environment. Moderate noise.
