The Director of Mission and Ministry, as a member of the Senior Leadership team, is responsible to promote among Board members, leadership, management, staff, clients, and partners of Marillac St. Vincent Family Services an understanding and internalization of the mission & philosophy of the Daughters of Charity, the Vincentian charisma and the vision, mission and core values of Marillac St. Vincent Family Services.
Duties & Responsibilities
Promote and maintain a culture of Vincentian community within the organization while respecting and honoring the diverse religious, cultural and ethnic backgrounds of staff and clients.
Design initiatives that are responsive to the unique cultures and needs of St. Vincent de Paul and Marillac Social Centers.
Lead and support the awareness, articulation, celebration and integration of MSV mission and values and pro-actively support the policies established by the Board of Trustees.
In cooperation with the CEO, Board of Trustees, and Mission and Advocacy Committee of the Board develop and implement an agency-wide strategic plan for mission integration.
Conduct mission interviews (including an introduction to MSV mission, vision and values) as part of the orientation program for all new employees. Provide on-going mission/values education to current staff. As well as participate in the onboarding process for Board Members and volunteers.
Facilitate the employee Mission Committee(s) for MSV.
Assure a mission orientation for new volunteers.
Ensure and facilitate a leadership and employee formation processes that sustain the mission and values in the daily work of serving others. (e.g. the Mission Mentoring program).
Take a lead role in managing the Mission and Advocacy Committee of the Board by attending meetings, planning agenda, and reporting to the Board. Act as a liaison between MSV and the Mission and Advocacy Committee.
Ensure that the necessary resource commitments are made to actualize the mission and core values of MSV.
Together with the CEO, represent the Mission to external stakeholders, when appropriate.
Respond to agency and stakeholder needs by performing assigned tasks, which do not fall within the above description.

Bachelor’s degree with a focus in theology, ethics, spirituality, pastoral studies, or related field preferred. Advanced degree preferred. Prior mission programming related experience. Prior multi-cultural work/life experience and high comfort level to interact with diverse populations.
Exemplifies the mission and philosophy of the Daughters of Charity and the Vincentian charisma in word, deed and action. Excellent interpersonal communication skills to engage others on an individual basis and to make group presentations. Strong facilitator and strategic thinker. Demonstrated assessment skills to discern personal values in alignment with Core Values
