The Advising Coordinator contributes to the daily operations of the Graduate Advising office and is responsible for day-to-day office administration, support, and special projects. This position is part-time (27 hours per week) and is directly supervised by the Director of Graduate Academic Advising.
The incumbent will be largely responsible for managing their own time, prioritizing their tasks as they see fit, while keeping in mind the needs of the office.
The Advising Coordinator manages various special projects that relate to the running of an effective office.
Individual duties may include:
Oversee up to five undergraduate work-study employees (hiring, training, and defining and assigning work)
Administer the Graduate Advising website using Common Spot
Conduct student outreach and communications
Manage school-wide listservs, program listservs, and email management system
Represent Graduate Advising at SIS Grad Day and New Student Orientation
Will be responsible, at times, for managing the front office
Collect and analyze data, data entry associated with incoming students and degree clearance, and other tasks as necessary

Bachelor's degree is required.
Two years of relevant experience, preferably in multicultural office settings
Strong time-management and interpersonal communications skills
Outstanding organizational ability with the ability to prioritize multiple projects and manage deadlines with minimal direct supervision
High computer/technical proficiency including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Access, PowerPoint and especially Excel)
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Demonstrated interpersonal skills
Demonstrated attention to detail.
Experience in website administration, CMS, and/or HTML
