The Dean of the College of Science and Health reports to the Provost/Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs. The Dean provides leadership and coordination of academic programs in the college and works with the respective departments and programs in ongoing planning activities. Primary responsibilities include general administration of all college programs and the oversight of curricular, budgetary, program and faculty development. The Dean is responsible for providing the overall vision and leadership for the college, with a clear focus on science and health professions, innovation, inter- and cross-disciplinary activities, undergraduate, graduate, and general education. The Dean will have a strong focus on diversity and a commitment to Inclusive Excellence, as well as a commitment to UWL's mission as a public, comprehensive university. The Dean is expected to work smoothly with shared governance and collaboratively with the other college deans while advocating for the needs of the College of Science and Health.

Required qualifications include: * Academic Credentials: The Dean will have a proven record of teaching and scholarship sufficient to qualify for appointment at the rank of full professor with tenure in one of the departments of the college with an earned doctorate or terminal degree from an accredited university. * Leadership and Administrative Experience: strong record of progressively responsible administrative and management experience, including evidence of strong budget and personnel skills.
Preferred qualifications include: * A commitment to ethical, honest, and transparent leadership practices. *Experience building relationships across the university and with alumni, business, scientific and/or health-related communities. *Experience with fundraising activities. *Experience in strategic planning activities. *Familiarity and experience with current assessment and credentialing (accreditation, licensure, registration, and certification) practices. *Demonstrated record of leadership resulting in continuing improvement and innovation. *Knowledge of, and experience with, international students and international programs.
