The Walter A. Haas School of Business is one of the largest professional schools on the Berkeley campus, comprising over 70 ladder-rank faculty and approximately 80 non-senate instructors, and employing more than 100 staff. The School offers two premier part-time MBA programs: the Evening & Weekend MBA Program and the Berkeley MBA for Executives Program
The Associate Director of Admissions will be a member of the Admissions Committee, which recruits and selects students for the part-time MBA programs (primarily the Berkeley MBA for Executives Program). The Associate Director will be responsible for a variety of marketing and admissions activities.
Admissions -Identify potential students and provide information about higher education generally and UC Berkeley, Haas School of Business specifically. -Process EMBA applications and serve as main point of contact for all application related needs. -Manage feedback call process for denied applicants -Work on diversity initiatives and create admit call sheets for calls by senior staff and faculty -Serve as liaison to EMBA program office -Serve as liaison to Graduate Division for EMBA and EWMBA admissions -Oversee all application related emails for EMBA -Assist with Evening & Weekend MBA admissions process as needed
Marketing/Consultations: -Work with professional applicants on consultations regarding right program fit -Become an expert on the EMBA program and meet with prospective applicants and visitors to campus -Assist with the development of other marketing materials and recruitment activities (e.g., the program guide, Web site, etc,) as needed. -Assist with webinars and online chats -Create, edit and present content for information sessions at EMBA and joint EMBA/EW sessions
CAREER DEVELOPMENT -Work on special programs as assigned. -Serve on departmental and campus-wide committees as appropriate. -Participate in activities that enhance the campus community and/or larger community to further University service.?Thorough knowledge and experience working with a diverse student population. ?Ability to interpret policies and procedures to prospective students and the public. ?Thorough and comprehensive knowledge of academic programs, including curricula, admissions requirements, and financial aid programs, at colleges/universities and specifically at UC Berkeley, and/or specific colleges and schools. ?Ability to establish and maintain cooperative relationships with schools, universities, community organizations, and other institutions. ?Ability to develop recruitment programs, and design effective materials.
REQUIREMENTS: ?Demonstrated creativity, resourcefulness, and keen judgment ?Excellent interpersonal skills ?Outstanding written and oral communication skills, including public speaking skills ?Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret and synthesize large volumes of applicant information. ?Outstanding organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects/deadlines. ?Must be self-motivated and able to work independently as well as be an integral member of a team-oriented office ?Familiarity with software applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access). ?Willingness to work some evenings and weekends for recruitment events. ?Willingness to travel (primarily Bay Area). ?Successful completion of background check required
Education/Training: ?Bachelors degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training
